UPI held the Teaching Professional Program Pledge Ceremony, Batch I, 2021/2022

Bandung, UPI – Thursday (24/02) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) successfully held the Teacher Profession Oath Taking Ceremony Batch I. This event was held offline but limited to the Postgraduate School Building, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The number of PPG program graduates who will take the oath of office of the teaching profession is 4,128 people. The graduates are teachers from 34 provinces in Indonesia. The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A.. This event was also held online through a Zoom Meeting by several prospective teachers who attended from home and broadcast live through the TVUPI Digital Youtube channel. The participants who took part offline were very limited and the committee was very concerned about the health protocols for the participants. It is evident from the mandatory antigen test before participants enter the UPI Graduate School Auditorium.

The taking of the Oath of the Teacher Profession Program was carried out solemnly in accordance with the dress rehearsal which had been carefully prepared before the event. After the procession of reading the oath, there was a symbolic signing of the minutes of the oath by representatives of the department. Awards for the best graduates were also mentioned, namely Arief Rahman Udin, S.Pd., Gr., Yuning Pujiyarti, S.Pd., Gr., Norma Rosiani Sucihasunda, S.Pd., Gr., and Rasi Widi Antari, S. Pd., Gr., (FIP). There are also the best graduates from UPI Regional Campus, namely Fitriyani, S.Pd., Gr., I Gusti Ngurah Gede Wirawan, S.Pd., Gr., Marliani Tangkelangi, S.Pd., Gr., Marlina Kristina Sitorus, S. Pd., Gr., and Luthfi Kurnia Budi, S.Pd., Gr.

Chairman of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI), Prof. Dr. Unifah Rosyidi, M.Pd., also attended the Zoom Meeting. “Today is proof that UPI has produced the best teachers throughout Indonesia, even the leaders of this country, that is our campus, the proud campus of the Indonesian Education University,” said Unifah in her speech.

UPI Rector, Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., MA. at the end of the event said that UPI should be grateful for having been given the mandate by the government through the Ministry of Education and Technology to carry out the Teacher Professional Education program together with 74 other LPTKs in Indonesia. The Rector said that for UPI this task was a form of commitment and trust that the government and society had given to UPI. “Therefore, we will continue to maintain this trust with a sense of responsibility and a high level of professionalism so that UPI can continue to contribute to building a strong, authoritative, and quality national education system through the preparation of professional teacher resources,” concluded Sholehuddin
