Science Festival 2021

Bandung, November 27th-28th, 2021

SA-IPSE successfully held the first online Science Festival with the theme “Science for and with technology: Innovate the invention”. Science Festival 2021 is a national science competition for junior high school students. This competition is participated by junior high school students throughout Indonesia, consisting of 27 Science Quiz participants, 24 Science Story Telling participants, and 7 Exploravision teams. Through the Science Festival 2021, we hope that Indonesian students can develop their potential, interests, insights, and creativity in the field of science. In addition, this activity also provides opportunities for students to create new innovations in the field of science.

At the beginning of the activity, the event was opened by Dr. Sandey Tantra Paramita, S.Si., M.Pd as the Head of the Division of Cooperation and Student Organization Development. On the 27th, the activity began with the preliminary and semi-final rounds for the Science Quiz competition, and the preliminary round for Science Story Telling. On the 2nd day, continued with the presentation of the Exploravision competition, and the final round of Science Quiz and Science Story Telling. Then finally ended with the announcement of the winners in each field of competition.

The three best participants in each field of the competition received trophies, cash, and souvenirs. Science Quiz winners: 1st Place Bismi Puncak Anugrah (SMP Krida Utama), 2nd Place Adinda Cleo Putri (SMPN 1 Batujajar) and 3rd Place Ariq Ulwan Hamman (SMP Islam Cendekia Muda). Exploravision winners: 1st place from SMP Krida Utama, 2nd place from SMP Kristen YSKI, and 3rd place at MTs Asih Putera. Winner of Science Story Telling: Michelle Evante Louis (SMP Santa Angela) 2nd Place Rafindra Bhima (SMP Taruna Bakti), and 3rd Place Syahila Alfita Dewi (SMP Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Parahyangan).

Besides science competition, there is a non-competition field, namely the Science Virtual Campaign. This campaign is carried out through the Science Festival Instagram account. This activity aims to display creative videos about science simulations and simple experiments for the wider community, and especially for junior high school students throughout the country.
