Institutional Meeting UPI 2019

The institutional meeting 2019 was held in Auditorium, FPMIPA UPI. The meeting was officially openned by the rector, Prof. Asep Kadarohman. The event has been attended by all heads of department. The university has stated the 2020 mision to strengthen the innovation and competitiveness in the Asia University Ranking.

Nowadays, the university has been ranked nationally with the score about 2.7. The ministry of research, technology, and higher education assessed the university performance based on Input (15%), Process (25%), Output (25%), Outcome (35%). The rector critisized the performance of university. The points to be improved are the quality of community services, networking, patent, and foreign lecturers. He also mentioned that the study program must consider the accreditation before graduating the students.

The asia university has ranked UPI at the position of 470. He targeted the university to achieve the position at rank 300. The programs have been evaluated to be improved next year. Some Input programs include Inbound/outbound student exchange programs, foreign students, foreign lecturers, increasing the numbers of lecturer and professor. The process includes the quality improvements of BAN PT accreditation, book chapters, financial reports, the information system integration, the networking. Moreover, the Output process includes the international accreditation, the research quality and quantity, the international collaboration research, the citation ratio, the student competition, the student entrepreneurship, the website quality, the certified graduated students. Finally, the Outcome program includes the improvement to the number of citation, sinta indexed book, innovation products, patents, sinta indexed journals, scopus indexed journals, waiting period for the graduates, the tracer study, industrial prototypes, and the community services.

The strategy must have been supported by the university budget based on NonPNBP and BPPTNPH. The head of study program should set the program based on the outcomes of priority programs.

The vice rector of academic and students’ affairs. Dr. Solehuddin, discussed the priority program concerning the academic and students’ affairs. He focused on the university achievement based on national ranking at the position 15. The university has planned the priority academic programs focusing on the long distance learning program regarding SPADA, Updating the PD Dikti Data, the National and International Networking. The university also contributed to developing the national electrical car for international competitiveness. The student competitiveness should be improved by considering better the Input and the Process programs. Therefore, the university entering selection has appreciated the student achievements to increase the quality of input. Furthermore, the university has set priority programs includes the 2018 Curriculum Implementation (Lesson Plan, Book, Curriculum, Curriculum Management Information System), the Online Learning System to all courses, the Quota-based Classroom Management, the Networking (Joint Curriculum, the Credit Transfer, the Twinning and Dual Degree Program).

The students’ affair program has been discussed including the budget (almost 1% currently), the quality and quntity of student creativity program, the number of student entrepreneurship program, the waiting period for graduates, and SIKMAWA. In 2020, He decided the student outstanding participants must propose the PKM proposal before being included in this event.

The vice rector for finance, resources, and general administration, Dr. Edy Suryadi, has stated the priority programs including accelerating doctorate-graduated lecturers, academic promotions, the number of lecturers, being fair without exception for the financial report, the performance-based incentives, SINTAG. The university has now invested about Rp. 139.25 billion for the infrastucturers. The one gate accounting information system has been being developed for the financial purposes. The university has decided the single annual financial and budget plan. He recommended evaluating the input, process, output, and outcome to all programs initated. To all the meetings please concern letters of invitation, attendance reports, notulency, fingerprints, transaction reports, and general standard costs.

Vice rector for research, partnerships, and bussiness, Prof. Didi Sukyadi, outlined the world university rankings including QS University ranking, Times higher education ranking. The university planned to improved the QS University Ranking. They reviewed 40% Academic reputation, 10% employer reputation, 20% faculty student ratio, 20% citation per faculty, 5% international faculty ratio, 5% international student ratio. The final assessment has been evaluated based on 50% survey, 30% data submission, and 20% scopus data. He informed that according to the sinta data, about 400 out of 1300 lecturers have scopus ID. The data should be updated regularly so that the result highly contributes to the university ranking. The networking with IOP will be strengthened including other publications. Other programs have to be enhanced such as internationally reputable journals, the innovation center, the downstream research programs, patents, prototypes, research collaborations, the faculty-level publishing house, international visiting students and lecturers, The university also accomodated the foreign lecturer for tickets and tax services.

Prof. Wawan Setiawan, a representative for the vice rector for planning, development, and information system. Integrated management system has been targetted to be developed. He discussed about the annual budget percentages. The output and the outcome should be considered as the main focus of the programs planned. [Eka Cahya Prima].
