National Coordination Meeting 2019 by the Indonesian Society of Science Educators

The Indonesian Society of Science Educators (Perhimpunan Pendidik IPA Indonesia – PPII) held the national coordination meeting 2019. The event was located at Postgraduate Building, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Prof. Dr. Anna Permanasari has officially opened the meeting. About 80 participants were invited to join this ceremony. The work discussed International Conferences in collaboration with PPII, such as ICoSEd, and ICMScE. The PPII chair also reported 15 out of 17 journals accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, the Republic of Indonesia. In this meeting, the heads of the study program and their representatives focussed on discussing the development of science education, the teacher profession program, the integrated science scopes, the profile and database of science education expertise, and the journal management collaboration.

Prof. Bibin Rubini and Prof. Liliasari suggested that PPII should contribute to the enhancement of science education quality in Indonesia as well as the improvement of PISA score globally. Therefore, teachers should be well-involved in managing the organization at many aspects. The doctorate graduates from the universities should be a pionaire in accelerating the science education quality especially in indonesia east region such as Sulawesi and Papua provinces.

The event has planed two next important meetings, annual congress 2019 and ICoSEd 2021 which will be held in Bogor and Yogyakarta, respectively. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia was recently the host of International Conference on Science Education 2019.
